NASA’s Eyes on Exoplanets: planets of other stars in 3D
A free 3D simulation of the thousands of confirmed exoplanets found so far, the planets that orbit other stars, and the zones where liquid water could exist.
Eyes on Exoplanets recreates in 3D the known planetary systems beyond our own, the exoplanets: thousands of confirmed planets orbiting other stars.
Among other things, it shows each star’s “habitable zone”, the region where the temperature could allow liquid water to exist on a planet’s surface.
It is an intuitive way to get a feel for how varied the universe is beyond the solar system. It runs in your browser and is free.
